The Central Vietnam has recently been battered by two subsequent storms and flooding, which have wreaked havoc on the entire region and plunged the area into an unprecedented humanitarian crisis. Heavy downpours triggered flashfloods and landslides, leaving hundreds of dead and missing. The floods and landslides have been known as the most catastrophic damage in the whole community over the past 20 years.

Beyond the tragic loss of lives, millions of relocated people are dealing with the aftermath of devastating storms and flooding, and unfortunately, they have had to cope with the difficult living conditions with homes destroyed, flood lost, sanitation facilities submerged. This has affected access to clean drinking water and put millions of people at the verge of disease and deepening concerns regarding malnutrition for young children, in particular.  Schools have also been enormously damaged, with loses of equipment, books and learning materials are completely destroyed by water and many remain closed,  further impacting the lost education experienced by children.

The floods and landslides affect all people, but it affects those who are socially and economically vulnerable, especially children far more seriously. As strongly confirmed that more than 50 children at Son Lien commune, Son Tay district, Quang Ngai province have been dramatically witnessed a serious implication on education. So this project aims to provide an education kit to encourage and motivate these children who lost all their school belongings including textbooks, notebooks, school bags, and other educational accessories during the floods. Since the evacuation process started without any prior information those who left their village not able to take any of their belongings with them. They run to the shelter almost barehanded.

Volunteer Vietnam today expresses our sincere sympathies for the families impacted by the tragedy, especially children, and for all of those who have lost homes, livelihoods and their beloved ones to the cascading natural disasters. So with the purpose of reaching out to worldwide volunteers and generous donors and supporters, we hope to raise at least 3000 US dollars as quick as possible in order to meet the children’s demand.

So please donate for us to build a better future for young generations. 100% of your donation will definitely be spent to buy school supplies, food, school bag, notebooks, pen and pencils, pencil boxes, crayons, coloring books, ect....

On behalf of Volunteer Vietnam, we’d like to sincerely extend our appreciation for your contributions to the project and we wish you are healthy and success till the rest of your life. Thank you for taking your time to read this project and we look forward to hearing from you.
